For those of you who don’t know me—which, let’s face it, is probably most of you—let me explain who I am. The person standing before you today is finally here.
For 30 years of my life, I wasn’t fully present. I lived in silence, suffering the effects of something called Dissociative Identity Disorder, or DID, which many of you may know as ‘multiple personalities.’
Pausing here to let that sink in.
If you’re unfamiliar with DID, I invite you to look it up later. What I’m about to share is my truth—and for much of my life, my truth has been rejected by what people like to call ‘society at large.’
I’ve been dismissed, walked over, manipulated, gaslit, and treated as less than human by people who would dare to call themselves loving. For years, I tried to speak my truth, only to be labeled as crazy, insane, nuts, or psycho.
For it is by your hands that we continue to stand in the shadows instead of radiating the light we know we have.
It’s wild what happens when you spend decades giving others what is, at best, your undivided attention, patience, and understanding, only to find no one showing up for you when your brain feels like it’s on fire.
Yet here I am. Against all odds, I stand before you now—no longer reduced to the object others wanted me to be. I am not just this flesh and bone. I am my soul, and I’m ready to radiate the light I know I’ve always had.
I want to take a moment to thank those of you who’ve reached out to me this past week, offering your concern and care. You are my champions, and I see you.
To those who answered my call and helped me process the love that’s always been there, thank you. I am rich in love—at worst.
And to those who’ve avoided me, left me on read, or refused to show up when I needed you, I see you, too. Thank you for helping me process the love that was always fake. I will no longer consort with con artists masquerading as friends or family.
Let me be clear: I am no longer available for relationships where I feel unseen or unheard. If you choose to come back into my life, be prepared to show me your cards. I will hold you accountable for your actions—and I will no longer entertain those who seek to exploit my heart.
I’ve waited 30 years to say these words, and I am done speaking my truth into the void. Life is pain, but it is also growth. Life is a school, and we are here to learn.
Today, I choose joy. Today, I celebrate the light within me. And I can think of no better way to celebrate than to dance.
Plays "Imma Be" by Black Eyed Peas and dances with abandon.
As this celebration comes to an end, I want to leave you with one final thought.
Free Gaza. Free Palestine. Free Sudan. Release all land to those of whom it belongs to and is cared for with respect and love.
And free any other oppressed people and nations who are being held in contempt by colonizers who look like me.
And to those who have suffered at the hands of society for the grievous wounds inflicted on you by those who would otherwise declare you crazy, insane, nuts, or psycho—this is for you. For it is by your hands that we continue to stand in the shadows instead of radiating the light we know we have and it is in your power to stand in yourself.
We are all connected in the fight for dignity, freedom, and justice. Let’s stand together, speak out, and show up for those who need us.Â
Thank you for witnessing my journey today. Now, go and radiate your light.
Good is God and God is Good.Â
If you agree, spread me like wildfire please.
Love you.
